Like most unions, we are part of regional and national organizations made up of workers in similar jobs and roles. We are structured into three levels of organization, each with their own constitutions and Executive Boards that govern them:
- Local 768 (constitution): Nearly 4,000 members governed by a 9-person Executive Board directly elected by the members every 3 years
- District Council 37 (constitution): Over 150,000 members, governed by a 25-person Executive Board elected by delegates from each of the over 60 Local unions within the District Council every 3 years
- American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (constitution): 1.4 million members across the country and US territories, governed by a 37-person Executive Board elected at a bi-annual Convention
