    Social Work Chapter Meeting

    In our last Chapter meeting (Apr 28th), over 75 Social Workers discussed Health+Hospital's proposed changes to our formal job description and we recruited our "Advisory Committee" for this Social Work Chapter, who serve to guide our follow up for issues specific to our title. This month we are following up on that issue, and putting it in the context of our larger goals for adequate staffing and compensation to match the difficult work we do every day. Join us as we launch our next phase of building our Social Work Chapter!

    This meeting is for our union members in the Social Work title.

    Our Member Action Team structure includes both Shop Stewards and 'MAT Leaders' who have not yet completed the Steward training (click here to enroll in the next class).

    Our long-term goal is for each Local 768 member to be assigned a Steward or MAT Leader who will:

    • Serve as initial contact and support
    • Be able to respond to issues promptly
    • Maintain regular communication

    With this in place, we will be able to enforce our contracts more effectively and even be more ambitious in what we demand from our employers.

    Our monthly agenda is:

    • Review local-wide trends in
      contract violations
    • Brainstorm selected case-studies
    • Ongoing training on the MAT
