At our prior meetings, we launched our petition based on our priorities developed by our bargaining committee. We’ve also created a beautiful flyer you can print out and distribute (looks best double sided in color of you can!) as well as an extensive online FAQ about our priorities, detailed language proposals and more!
Now, we're moving on this -- join us to review our progress canvassing our members over the last month. By getting majority support, mobilizing, and strategically escalating actions, we can win -- together!

For New York City workers, in addition to our contract that covers all DC37 members, we participate with other locals that represent Social Services and Health Services workers in something called Unit Bargaining. Local 768 began discussing our Unit Contract ideas shortly after ratification of the 2021-2026 Economic Contract in the Spring of 2023. We launched our Bargaining Committee, developed our proposals and a bargaining survey together. The process was stalled by then lame-duck Mayor Adams. We’re restarting now that we’ve elected Mayor Mamdani.
Through our bargaining survey process, our bargaining committee has developed some concise priorities:
Talking points
- Added pay for added skills
-
- Licensure Differential
- Longevity Differentials (augment / add where missing)
- Acknowledge the risks we face
-
- Correctional Setting Assignment Differential
- Mobile Crisis Assignment Differential
- Grant-funded position Assignment Differential
- Support us staying
-
- Transferring within our agencies as our lives change
- Location premium for living in 5 boroughs
- Ease residency requirements for Mayorals
-
Improving the work/life balance
- Workload limits to improve care and reduce burnout
- Expanded and strengthened hybrid work options
- Options for alternate work schedules/compressed schedules (i.e. 4 day work week with longer hours each day)
You can review all the details on unit bargaining here, and after RSVP'ing, your confirmation email will include our bargaining survey reports.
