New Health Plan Option

The Municipal Labor Committee negotiated a new premium free Healthcare plan option for members in DC37 employed by New York City, the NYC Employees PPO or NYCE PPO plan. If you are a HIP member you will not automatically be switched to the new NYCE PPO plan. HIP members will stay with their current plan, unless you choose to change your healthcare plan during the open enrollment period. Your current doctors may not know the name of the plan just yet, but will come January 1, 2026.

Below are a few highlights of the plan, which will take effect on January 1, 2026.

  • Expands the number of providers from the network Emblem Health.
  • The increase goes from 64,000 providers to 78,000 providers in New York City, Long Island, Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Ulster, Rockland and Westchester Counties
  • Members can keep current doctors
  • Reduction of pre-authorizations by 50%
